Product Description Gammon Steak – Pacdon Park (300g-340g) Pacdon Park’s Gammon Steak is made using free range pork leg which has been cured with a house-made apple brine. The gammon steak is approximately 300g-340g pack. Gammon steaks are a British pub classic and are traditionally served with an egg, grilled pineapple and chips. A little bit of trivia … the word ‘gammon’ is derived from the Middle English word for ‘ham’, gambon, which is attested since the early 15th century and derived from Old North French gambon, itself derived from Old French jambon, which is identical to the modern French word for ‘ham’. COOKING TIPS Gammon is a raw pork product so it needs to be cooked (like bacon). Two of the best ways to cook gammon is either to pan fry or grill on the BBQ. To pan fry, heat a pan to a medium heat. Add about a tablespoon of oil and place the gammon steak into the pan. The gammon should sizzle straight away. Allow to cook for about 3 minutes each side or until golden brown. SERVING SUGGESTION Serve gammon steaks as an alternative to bacon in your English breakfast. Traditionally, they’re served in pubs with an egg, pineapple and chips.
